Welcome to Holy Moments – Spring edition! You’ll see we highlight a really successful ministry within SVDP – The Fr. Michael Wittman Ozanam Center in East Cleveland, and two great partners of ours – I’m In Ministry! and Community West Foundation.
Under the outstanding leadership of Carol Iott, Fr. Michael Wittman has been a vital asset for the community. It has been no small undertaking to have relocated from its former home at St. Philomena two years ago, to its current location at Chambers Community Empowerment Center. Thank you to Carol, the FMWOC board, and the many, many volunteers (24 each Saturday morning!) for your commitment to the community.
Two weeks ago, I received a call from one of the I’m In Ministry! volunteers asking that I stop giving out Deacon Lou Primozic’s mobile number (sorry!). He explained Deacon Lou is a really busy guy and …. to be sure the number to DONATE items is (440) 502-1060, and if you need ASSISTANCE please call (440) 502-1940. I’m sure Deacon Lou handled each call with grace and compassion as he has done with the many neighbors that have benefitted from his ministry over the years. I’m In Ministry! has been a tremendous resource for SVDP and we deeply appreciate its work and the dedicated staff and many volunteers.

Finally, Community West Foundation has been an essential partner for our three west side hunger centers, serving the nutrition needs of Ohio City, Detroit Shoreway, and Brooklyn Centre. Thank you to our contacts at Community West, Maureen Stanton, Sean Arras, and Marty Uhle, the CW executive director, for his long-standing commitment to SVDP and our ministry on the west side of Cleveland.
